So much has happened since then - it was my Barkday and the shibas showered me with affection (although they did not make me a cake); the four of us got to stay home and do NOTHING for over a week; it snowed a lot; we ate a lot; and last night the shibas joined their dad in celebrating the NY Giants' victory over the Dallas Cowboys. This was a particularly monumental occasion in our house.
Unfortunately, the shibas haven't been able to post about ANY of this because their computer is on its last leg. Not even leg - more like toe. Pinky toe to be exact.
This has been very hard for them because they feel they've lost their only artistic outlet. Shortly after the computer became ill, Wiley began experimenting with painting pictures in the snow. He seemed less than enthusiastic about only having yellow to work with, so he gave up. Fievel took to performance art, but when her dad and I found her poop-flinging act to be gross, rather than hauntingly brilliant, she gave up, too. Now they just kind of wander around the house as if looking for something they've misplaced.
They send me to work each day with strict instructions to check on their friend Poppy's recovery; the operation effort to bring Beau home; Sophina la Brador's liver; and everything in between. I try to find time throughout the day to visit all of their friends, but I haven't been able to leave many comments. This has not made the shibas very happy.
On behalf of Wiley and Fievel, I apologize for our long absence from the blogosphere and we hope you're all well! The shibas will regain their artistic voice in a few days when their computer is back up and running. It should be interesting to see how they'll sum up these past few weeks! So, stay tuned! In the meantime - since a post without a picture just isn't a post - here are some oldies but goodies. There's nothing like shiba eye-candy...morning, noon, and night! I eat it up!
